Gibborim | Nephilim-Animal Hybrids | Centaur and Liontaur

By The Source

I want to make something clear before we start. Gibborim is a term that I use for Nephilim-Animal Hybrids—like the Centaur—in my book, it is not the biblical term for them.

Did you miss The Gods of Old | Angels in Rebellion?

(18) And their judges and rulers went to the daughters of men and took their wives by force from their husbands according to their choice, and the sons of men in those days took from the cattle of the earth, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air, and taught the mixture of animals of one species with the other, in order therewith to provoke the Lord; and God saw the whole earth and it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted its ways upon earth, all men and all animals. –Jasher 4:18 7:33

The book of Jasher is a non-canonized biblical book. What it says though is very interesting. They took animals and taught the mixture of one kind with another?

Centaur

According to Greek mythology, there were two lines of Centaur. The first was the son of the Titan Cronos and Phylyra, named Chiron. Phylyra was an Oceanid, the daughter of the Titans Oceanus and Tethys. Chiron was supposedly intelligent and wise. The second line of Centarus were born from a union between Ares and a mare.

Interestingly, Chiron was born from divine parents while the centaurs born from Ares came from a union with a mare. Chiron and his decedents were wise and intelligent while the centaurs born from Ares were considered beast like.

Urmahlullu

The Urmahlullu, or more commonly known as the Liontaur, appears in Egyptian and Mesopotamian mythology.

Sekhmet, below, was an Egyptian goddess of war.

Imagine facing such a creature in battle. A creature with the intelligence of a human but with the super human speed and strength of a lion?

I’ll ask a different question. In a fight between a tiger and a lion, who wins?

This is just the beginning. There are countless examples of hybrids in mythologies from all around the world and they provide excellent sources for the imagination. I will be sharing about the ones that will play a role in The Atlantis Project.
